Latest news
Crescendo, Derby's Community Choir has raised an amazing £2,200 for local Derby based charity Annabel’s Angels at our Repton concert on May 7th 2022.
Originally the concert was due to take place on 21 March 2020 – two days before lockdown. Little did we know it would be two years before the concert could finally take place!
On 7 May 2022, we celebrated performing together at the magnificent Pears Hall at Repton School watched by over 200 family and friends were entertained by a full repertoire of songs from the shows, standards and three outstanding solos, demonstrating a varied range of voices and interests.
Musical Director Robin Fugill said “A thoroughly entertaining evening of memorable songs, sung memorably by a great choir.”
Thank you to everyone who made the concert possible (you know who you are!) helped on the night, baked cakes, donated raffle prizes, performed and came to listen and gave so generously.

From the only Christmas performance we managed thanks to Covid!
To all the wonderful choir. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness in making our Christmas Fair one to remember...can I book you for next Christmas?
Musical Director Robin Fugill presents the cheque for £2,200 to Annabel's Angels. This local charity raises funds and provides support for families living with cancer in Derby.
Rachel Hayward, Chair of the charity and a member of the choir said “Our grant scheme is funded through fundraising events and public donations which was all but wiped out by the restrictions over the last 2 years. This funding has come just at the right moment, and we will be able to support at least 10 families. We are so thankful to the choir for agreeing to perform and waiting those 2 long years to showcase their amazing voices”.
